Minor Surgery
We provide minor surgical procedures as required including:
• Emergency suturing of small wounds.
Not all cuts that require stitches need to be referred to hospital. We are able to treat most wounds effectively in the practice and spare you the inconvenience of a trip to hospital.
• Removal of foreign bodies from eyes and ears.
• Removal of suspicious lumps or moles from the skin.
Early Detection of skin cancers can make a major difference in treatment and outcome. Should you have a lump or mole that you are concerned about we are happy to give an opinion and we can arrange for on site removal of the lesion if appropriate.
• Cryotherapy (freezing) of warts, verrucas and skin tags.
When over the counter treatments fail cryotherapy is the most effective way to say goodbye to your unwanted warts, verrucas and skin tags.
• Removal of ingrown toe nails.
Ingrown toe nails are painful and prone to infection. Surgical removal can be the remedy to this painful condition which is available on site and by prior appointment.
• Injection of knees and shoulders for relief of arthritis pain.
Arthritis is painful and disabling. Pain relieving tablets and gels are not always effective. Steroid injection of painful knees and shoulders can provide relief from arthritis pain on the same day and can last months.
• Steroid injection for relief of carpal tunnel syndrome.
Carpal tunnel syndrome can be painful and limit a person’s activity and severely interfere with their sleep. A quick steroid injection into the affected area can relieve symptoms for up to 3 months.
